A WDA-Approved Training Organization (ATO)
In 2003, United Medicare built a hospital which is nestled in a 5-storey building and centrally located in the Toa Payoh Estate (Lorong 6). Its centre features not less than 240 beds, a therapy room with special tailored recreational facilities for the senior residents.
UMC is staffed by a team of over l00 multi-disciplinary healthcare professionals and support staff such as trained nurses, trained therapists, administration and support service teams.
We are committed to providing total quality to our residents in a home-like,
non-institutionalised environment by a team of well-trained and professional healthcare/aged care professionals.
In 2007, United Medicare envisaged the need to train more aged care professionals to meet the needs of a rapid aging population in Singapore. Hence, building upon our core operational and training excellence in the aged care sector, United Medicare became Early Adopters for the WDA Community and Social Services (Senior Services) programme. In 2008, we began to provide modular training and clients include TSAO FOUNDATION.
In early 2009, we were awarded ATO status by WDA and as an Approved Training Organisation, we play a critical role in the design and delivery of quality training and assessment based on industry-endorsed competency standards. The effectiveness of our status as ATO depends on:
- Design and Development of Curriculum:
Design and develop courseware and assessment based selected competency standards.
- Delivery of Training and Assessment
Conduct training and assessment as accredited.
- Evaluation of Training and Assessment Outcomes
Evaluate Level training outcomes as agreed with stakeholders.
- Implementation of Training-Related Administrative Functions
Administrative functions include supervising the operations of
training, administering assessment systems, managing and coordinating
certificate printing and issusance of Statements-of-Attainment.
- Continuous Improvement Review (CIR) by WDA
